John
Brillon is a visionary. His masterpieces in oils and acrylics
speak volumes of the history and beauty found in west coast culture
and people. His style is unique. His paintings are rare. The people
that own them are amazed at their timelessness because of their
depth and grandeur. His pictures are filled with the emotions
of the land and the people who live and breath its culture. They
are inspiring and bring us to a time when the land was pristine
and mystical.
Brillon
is of Cree heritage. He was born and raised in Northern BC in
the small fishing village of Port Edward. At an early age, he
would be inspired to paint fishing boats out on the high seas
and would spend hours capturing these scenes in oils. Some of
his earliest inspiration came from Cree artist Allen Sapp who
is recognized nationally and internationally for his paint life
on the northern plains. Brillon also admired Salvador Dali. In
Prince Rupert, he was also encouraged greatly by local artist
Ruth Harvey.
